A special opportunity for the week of 7/20 - 7/27 at Yoga in the Park

Normally I would have to cancel classes, however, this year we have the great fortune of having a young woman that I have know now for severl years and taught with over that time. Linsey Richards, a wonderful yoga teacher form Jabulani Yoga in Corona del Mar, has answered my request and will be teaching all of my classes at Yoga in the Park while I am away. Lindsey earns some of her income from teaching yoga, she is teaching my classes without any direct compensation, so during this week all donations will go to Lindsey for her efforts, as usuall all classes are free, however as usual, donations are allways accepted and appreciated, normal donations of $5 would be greatly appreciated. I hope you will all come out to Yoga in the Park during this week, it is a great chance to learn from a very special teacher, see her resume below. It is also a great chance to inhance and grow your practice. Your support for her while I am away will greatly affect my ability to make this happen again in the future, so if you like not having classes canceled, make a special effort to show up to yoga during this week. A special note, Lindsey will not be able to bring extra pads and mats with her, so make sure you bring your own mats and pads! I am hoping to have Lindsey at at least one class next week, so I may be able to introduce her to some of you next week. Don't miss this great opportunity!!! Namaste, Carl
Lindsey Richard Lindsey came to yoga during her recovery from brain surgery in Indianapolis, Indiana: conventional physical therapy had plateaued and yoga offered a new way to explore the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of recovery. On her mat, she found not only a new sense of balance, strength, and flexibility, but also relaxation and acceptance of what had happened. Two years after surgery Lindsey and her husband Todd moved to England for eight months during which she had the opportunity to further her yoga study with Zen Master J. Daizan Skinner in London and complete her teacher training under his tutelage. Zen yoga training allowed Lindsey to expand upon the flowing vinyasa yoga she had practiced to that point and add a new level of mindfulness and awareness to the practice she loved. She continues to merge these two seemingly disparate traditions in her classes working to find a balance between the physical side of the asana practice and the mental and breath based traditions. After relocating to Corona del Mar, California, late in 2011, Lindsey is excited to have the opportunity and honor of sharing yoga at Jabulani Yoga with anyone willing to listen. In addition to yoga, Lindsey spends time with Todd and their dog, Parker, they can often be found wandering the streets of CDM on a nice day. Lindsey's other passions include running, cooking, baking, reading, and trying new things...not necessarily in that order. --
